Russell Hall is a jazz artist from Kingston, Jamaica. He has studied jazz at the Dillard Center for the Arts with Christopher Dorsey and The Juilliard School with Ron Carter, Wynton Marsalis and Ben Wolfe. He has performed and recorded with artists such as Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Kathleen Battle, Wayne Shorter, Roy Haynes, The Heath Brothers, Barry Harris, Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Mwenso and the Shakes and Emmet Cohen. He currently fronts his own groups: “The Enigmatics” which celebrate the legacy of legends Thelonious Monk, Lester Young, Willie “The Lion” Smith, and Dizzy Gillespie and “The Rainbow Kids” which is a collective of many artists from who bring love wherever they go.

AS AN ARTIST, IT IS MY DUTY TO SERVE THE CREATOR. JAH RASTAFARI. CONQUERING LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH. EVER LIVING EVER POWERFUL. FOR WHOM ALL CREATIONS ARE BUT VESSELS OF LOVE AND MUSIC. A SERVANT OF ALL ANCESTRAL SPIRITS OF IFA. I AM A SERVANT OF THIS MUSIC. A VESSEL FOR HIS MAJESTY WORK. TO SHARE THE FREEDOM AND POWER OF JAZZ MUSIC IS MY CAUSE. MY ACTIONS ARE REFLECTIVE THE MASTERS WHO SACRIFICED BEFORE ME. THEIR MESSAGE WAS LOVE AND FREEDOM THROUGH THE CREATIVE EXPRESSION OF JAZZ MUSIC.
